Jose A. Fuentes is a founding partner of the law firm of Fuentes & Berrio. Jose specializes in personal injury cases and is a proud member of Million Dollar Advocates Forum, one of the most prestigious groups of lawyers in the United States with fewer than 1% of all U.S. trial lawyers as members.
Jose is dedicated to representing plaintiffs who have been catastrophically injured or died as a result of another’s negligence. He has litigated and tried personal injury cases throughout the United States, as well as handled cases involving foreign jurisdiction.
In 2013, Jose was selected as a Rising Stars, as published in the Wall Street Journal & Miami Magazine. This is a designation awarded only to a select number of accomplished attorneys in each state, which takes into account peer recognition and professional achievement in the legal practice.

In 2017, Jose litigated a personal injury case which resulted in a $23,065,991.00 million dollar verdict and a number 5 spot on the top 10 Personal Injury Verdicts that year. It is important to note that the insurance company had denied the claim prior to litigation.
Jose was born in Jovellanos, Cuba on October 16, 1973 and arrived in the United States in 1983 with his father, mother and sister. He is married and has two children. Jose is fluent in Spanish. He earned his undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University as an active member of the Alpha Phi Sigma Honor Society and earned his juris doctorate degree from The University of Tulsa School of Law, where he was an honorary member of the International Law Association, as well as the Hispanic Law Students Association.
While in law school, Jose earned a judicial clerkship at the Public Defender’s Office and studied Comparative/ International Law at the Universidad De Palermo in Buenos Aires Argentina during a summer abroad.

Jose has extensive experience in wrongful death, pedestrian accidents, car accidents, aviation accidents, motorcycle/ ATV accidents, boating accidents, bicycle accidents, premises liability such as slip and falls, medical malpractice and has represented clients in Florida, Georgia, Texas, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Ohio, Maryland, California and Puerto Rico in various types of traumatic accidents. Jose has also represented victims of airline accidents such as American Airlines and Aeromexico, involving involving victims of Dominican Republic and Mexico.
